Imam Shafi (d. 204 AH) was a very knowledgeable personality of his time, who is counted among the four major jurists۔ He founded his school of thought by using both Hanafi and Maliki jurisprudence and authored unique books. He wrote the first official, compiled book on the principles of jurisprudence, which is called Al-Rasalah. In it, he explained the principles of jurisprudence and then explained them with examples and made this knowledge more common. In it, the basic and important discussions related to Usul Fiqh have been explained in great detail and explanation. After this book, this series progressed so much that scholars of different schools of thought took up this art and piled up books. Ever since this book was written, scholars have been busy with it.
