Abstract

Education is pivotal for the moral, mental, and physical development of individuals and nations, shaping beliefs, civilizations, and cultural values. Historically rooted in Islamic societies, education once seamlessly integrated knowledge and character formation. However, contemporary education systems often prioritize academic achievement over moral development, leading to a generation lacking in character. This trend, observed globally, presents a challenge for Muslim societies striving to balance Islamic principles with modern education. This paper advocates for a return to Islamic teachings in education, emphasizing the integration of knowledge with practical training and the cultivation of high moral values. It critiques current mixed educational systems for their failure to align with Islamic ideals and calls for the establishment of educational frameworks that uphold Islamic values while meeting contemporary needs. The future prosperity of Muslim societies depends on restoring Islamic principles in education, nurturing a generation grounded in faith, morality, and knowledge.
