An Overview of the word Book in literal and terminological aspects

Abstract

There is a special concept of Ahl e Kitab (People of the book) in Islam. The meanings, connotations and terms of the Kitab and Ahl e Kitab have a lot of roles to explain their status. For a complete understanding of the term Ahl e Kitab in the present era, it is necessary to be familiar with the meanings, concepts, synonyms and different aspects of the Kitab and Ahl e Kitab in Arabic and Islamic literature. In this article, an attempt has been made to clarify it by discussing the Kitab and Ahl e Kitab in a literal and terminological way.
