An Analysis of the scholarly and research work related to the Ottoman Caliphate in the Subcontinent
Abstract
The purpose of this research article is to analyze scholarly and research work related to the Ottoman Caliphate in the subcontinent. In the history of the world, the Ottoman Caliphate is considered as one of the great empires after Prophetic, Umayyad and Abbasid eras due to its various aspects of development and timeless deeds. This was spread across three continents through its unparalleled administrative abilities, abundance of conquests and political strategies. In its heyday, it was a powerful, influential and superpower government that has influenced non-Muslims around the world, including Muslims. That is why not only the writers of the continents have written about this empire but also the thinkers and historians of the subcontinent have written a lot on its history. There has been a great deal of research work on this golden age in the subcontinent. Among them are the compilation of books, conducting research and seminars in universities, scientific and intellectual articles and translation of books of extraordinary importance. There is a need to analyze scholarly and research work related to the Ottoman Caliphate in the subcontinent. This article has been presented to meet this intellectual need.
