Concept of Love Marriage in the teaching of Islam and it's social impects: it's analytical study in Distt. Faisalabad 2014-2018
Abstract
Love marriage in Islamic perspective and its social implications (critical analysis of Faisalabad District 2014-18). Love marriages are being taken place in a huge number in our society. This growing trend is provoking different social and ethical problems in our social fabrics. Usually, a girl and boy develop relationship with promise to get knot. They keep on hidden meeting until they get married through courts. The researcher collects the data of various police stations regarding occurrence of love marriages and its consequences. In the light of above said FIRs, the researches draw a picture of our social setup which does not support love marriages. Islam is the religion of nature and peace. It provides all rights of choices and willingness to both boy and girl in the matter of weddings and others matters. Marriage is the basic unit of constructing institution of family. Our family system is deep-rooted in which elders play a pivotal role to unite the family members. In the past, all the marriages were taken place with the consent of elders keeping the choice of bride and groom in view. But due to changing patterns of electronic and digital communications, unfortunately, role of elders has weakened. And the youngster develops the relations with the usage of such gadgets which cause such marriage. The researcher quotes the references of various Fiqah school of thought regarding love marriages and the role of parents as well. This type of marriages is creating unrest in our rural as well as urban landscape. Resultantly, honour killings and such act of extreme nature are being witnessed in our culture. The researcher after discussing various aspects of such type of cases proposed some suggestions to avoid controversy. The research will also provide a roadmap to further enhance research work on the love marriages.
