Abstract

Word Faīth, creed, belīef contaīns specīal meanīng īn Īslamīc hīstory. There are dīfferent school of thoūghts īnterpret the meanīng of creed. Faīth īs belīef īn the heart, words on the tongūe and actīons of the body. There are dīfferent qūestīons aboūt īt līke does faīth īncrease and decrease? Accordīng to Mūhaddīthīn Īman īs to be convīnced wīth the īnner heart, to affīrm wīth the tongūe and to carry oūt actīons wīth varīoūs parts of body. Īmam Abū Hanīfa and the Īslamīc theologīans (Mūtakallīmīn) claīm; Īman īs to be convīnced wīth īnner heart, affīrmīng wīth tongūe īs an īntegrall pīllar (Rūkn) of Īslam. There are other school of thoūghts Mūtazīla, Qadrīya, Jahmīyyah, Mūrjī’ah. Molana Shabīr Ahmad Ūthmanī descrībes all sects and also gīve reasons for theīr detractīons.
