The Creation of Spouses in all Kinds of World: in the context of the Qur’an and Science

Abstract

All the creatures have been created in pairs. In living organisms, both animals and plants as well as in microorganisms; members of a pair are designated as male and female. Reproductive organs of male and female produce gametes which harbor different combinations of the genetic traits of parental origin. Resultantly, the zygotes have tremendous genetic diversity, upon which the environmental changes function to allow the progress of only those variants whose genetically determined characteristics are efficient to prosper in that particular environment. Concept of male and female members of a species was well known to ancient civilizations for animals. However, older civilizations were unaware about the male and female plants their reproductive organs. Whilst the microorganisms were not unveiled till the seventeenth century.
