Abstract
Online taxi services have made a late entry to the Pakistani market, but not one without much fanfare. Careem made its way here from Dubai in late 2015, hoping to establish a foothold among the inflated rickshaw rates and unreliability of commercial transport. But, a short half year later, other e-cab services such as Uber and A-Taxi—big players in their own right—followed suit. Together, the e-cab industry of Pakistan quickly became a budget favourite for consumers, and their relevance in the e-commerce sector is now unparalleled except perhaps by a select few. For the time being, there are many reasons to do research in Fiqhi perspective to find out and to sort out the religious issues arisen.
