An Analytical and Comparative Study of the Qur’anic Themes discussed in Fatḥul Bāri and 'Umadtul Qari

Abstract

The research on analytical study regarding the subjects of Holy Quran, particularly in the light of Fathul Bari and Umdatul Qari is an arduously task because both books being interpretations of Sahih Bukhari are also the interpretation of Hadith as well. It is fact that the subjects of Holy Quran are discussed in Fathul Bari and Umadtul Qari frequently. It is so strenuous to compile the debated issues regarding the subjects of the Holy Quran because there is no discussion in this respect except ‘KitabulTafsir’ in the respective books. In this research article, a comparative analysis of books of Allama Ibn-e-Hajar named ‘Fatah-al-Bari’ and book of Allama Badarul Din Aini named Umdatul Qari, with regard to the teachings of Holy Quran will be discussed. Despite this, debates of 14 types regarding the teachings of Holy Quran may be discussed in these books and mentioned in this research as well. Among the most popular and celebrated teachings, the historical context of the revelation, the teachings of Holy Quran, compilation of the Holy Quran, knowledge of Abrogated and Abrogates, the commandments of the Holy Quran, the similarity and ambiguity, the knowledge of seven letters and intonation of the Holy Quran are the most famous, which are discussed in these books in detail.
