The Problems of the Imprisoned Women

Abstract

In order to save mutual human relationship from imbalance and violence and to eradicate crime, Allah has promulgated punishment both on earth and in after life; imprisonment is one such punishment. Likewise, Islam has also emphasized the respect for humanity and basic rights. The purpose of punishment is not only to save the society from the criminal acts but also to create a noble society. People in prison face extreme brutality and have lived with extreme pressure under inhumane conditions, even though Islam teaches to treat prisoners with manners and justice. Consequently, the communities and nations of today co-opted the way for the formalization of rules over the humanity. This research aims to identify the social and psychological problems that the prisoners face and then suggest solution which are practical and applicable in the eyes of Islam.
