Abstract

The History of the Indian Subcontinent is full of significant scholars, eminent thinkers and distinguished researchers, known for their valuable works in various fields of science and arts. Sheikh Ashraf Ali Al-Tahnawi is among one of the diversified modern jurist who is renowned for the efforts of Islamic Revival of Islam. He raised the idea of ​​renewal and reform of Islamic law. His convincing and clear arguments during discussions with Christians and Jews played a pivotal role in defending Islamic law. His sermons were full of wisdom and nobility, reflecting his title of “Hakim ul Ummah”.The interpretation of Quran, “BIYAN UL QURAN” is among one of his valuable work which received paramount fame among public and scholars. It contain important scientific studies of interpretation, Qur’anic recitations, syntax, rhetoric, jurisprudence, and mysticism. This research includes the study of The Accusative cases in the Interpretation of "BIYAN UL QURAN" by Sheikh Ashraf Ali Tahnawi (Syntactical and Statistical Study). It is worth mentioning that the unique style of presenting Syntactical issues is among one of his expertise fields. This article comprises of two sections, the first is about the Accusatives in the nominal sentence and the second section on the Accusatives in the verbal sentence. The current article enlightens his interest in Qur’anic recitations, basry school of thought. It also reflects the outstanding services and great scientific work of our ancestors in the field of knowledge and research.
