The Quranic Taste of Hazrat Umer His Services for the Quran

Abstract

The Quran was started to reveal on Holy Prophet by Almighty Allah with the verses of Surah Alaq at Hiracave. These first Quranic Verses had great impact and ordained the importance of getting knowledgeand HazratUmeraccpted Islam after listening the verses of Holy Quran. Therefore Holy Quran had greatimpact on the personality of HazratUmer and He remain very keen regarding teachings of Holy Quranthroughout His life. Almost in 12 situations, the verses of Holy Quran were revealed according to theopinion of HazratUmer and these verses called Muafqat-a-Umer.During the life of Hazrat Muhammad(SAW), HazratUmer get knowledge of Quranic Verses by the Holy Prophet Himself and many Quranic interpretations were also made by HazratUmer.Quran was brought into writing during the period of Hazrat Abu BakarSiddiqueon the suggestion and strong advocacy of HazratUmer.During the regime of HazratUmer many a steps were taken to the make thelives of the people according to the teachings of Holy Quran. Allah had bestowed HazratUmer a verygood sense of Quranic Verses. HazratUmer strongly believe that the strong relation with Holy Quranpaved the way for strong faith and poise actions. Therefore HazratUmer paid special attention for theQuranic education during His caliphate.In those days Quran was central point of the education of thepeople.
