The Quran as a source of Islamic Jurisprudence and Oriental Studies: An Assimilation and Analysis

Abstract

Orientalist's developed a vast literature on Islam, Prophet of Islam and about Islamic Sciences. They have also contributed a lot in the field of Islamic Law, its Origin, foundations and early development. According to their findings, Islamic law does not contain Quranic foundations. They also claimed that legal material in the Quran is not enough to establish a legal system. According to Muslim Scholarship  Quran is the fundamental and major source of Islamic Law. In this article findings and viewpoint of the Orientalist's is being critically analyzed.
