Oneness of Sovereignty : Context and Contemporary Applications (An Analytical and Research Study )

Abstract

The creed of Allah’ sovereignty is depicted as there is no one in the universe except Allah who is the supreme to order and to be obeyed. This obligatory for all human beings to submit before Him solely in all dimensions of their life i.e. spiritual, economic and political. The term “Allah is sovereign” is ancient in its meaning but contemporary in its words. This is fact that the majority of Muslim rulers in their regimes never intended to comply the Islamic law. Hence, this term became controversial and debatable when it was used by different religious insurgency movements to fortify their stance against rulers. In response, many scholars denied this term and declared it a deviation from mainstream. The article deals with term in detail and reveals four viewpoints about it. The article has been written in analytical mode.
