Abstract

The battles (ghazwat) fought by Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh) were remarkable in more ways than one. It, not only, demonstrated the great devotion of the disciples to the cause and their complete falk in the Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh) and his mission. Along with its significance as far-reaching consequences, the timing of these battles also holds its importance. The account of these battles are mentioned in Hadith literature, as well as in Seerah books. However, the timings of these battles are different in Hadith literature and Seerah accounts. Some seerah writers has consulted ahadith and synchronised the differences very aptly like Hafiz Mughaltai,  however, some does not seem to subscribe this motion. So this article is written in order to ponder upon these differences and identify the more authentic traditions on timings of Prophet’s Ghazwat.
