Abstract

Women prisoners remained as minorities in several countries and societies. The purpose of this study is to identify the problems that female prisoners are facing in Islamic and western societies. This is the reason that the construction of the prisons as well as their laws and rules have always been made by considering the male approach. Consequently female prisoners are facing difficulties all over the world. This  research deals with the rules for the betterment of female prisoners, set according to both the Islamic law and the western law. The study states that according to the Sharia, women can be impriosned as a punshiment for their crimes with proper care of their needs. Including pakistan, globally female prisoners are still ignored. It is the state’s responsibility to fulfill the basic human rights and the feminine needs of the female prisoners. Punishments of the female prisoners shoud be altered by other punishments. The study reveals the important issues of the female prisoners and suggests to solve their problems in the light ofQuran and Sunnah.
