Abstract

Moulana Hameed-ud-Din Farahi is a leading interpreter of the Holy Quran.The principles of the interpretation of the holy Quran,he adopted, are different than that of his predecessors.Moulana Hamid-ud-Din Farahi gave very importance to the concept of coherence of the Quran(Nazm-e-Quran).The centeral theme of surah is called "Amood" by him.According to Moulana Farahi, Surah Lahab was not revealed in responce of Abu Lahab, but it was the forcast of the conquest of Makkah,while the general elaborates declared that the Surah was revealed in responce of Abu Lahab's Blasphemy of the Holy Prophet(SAW).According to Moulana Farahi, Hazrat Musa (A.S) was escaped by the fatal wind while Pharoah and his troops were destroyed by soft wind,while according to general commentators Hazrat Musa (A.S) smote with his followers on water and there were twelve ways, the desendents of Israel crossed the river and his troops were destroyed by the same water.In Sura Al-Feel, according to Farahi, The Abraha and his troops were destroyed by the Qureshi troops, while according to general interpreters, they were destroyed by the small birds called Ababeel.This paper is an evaluation of the individual point of view of Hamid-ud-Din Farahi in detail.
