Abstract

In preliminary days of Islam, the Holy Quran addressed
the people who were acquaintances of Ahl-e-Kitab and
therefore had a clear idea about their ideology and belief
system. The Holy Quran Guides us about beliefs of
Ahl-e-Kitab, changings they made in their Holy books and their
historical incidences in a comprehensive manner. The
explanation and interpretation of these beliefs and historical
events can only be possible if we see it in its context and
occasion and this can be done by reviewing old Holy Scriptures
and literature about their religions. Keeping this in mind,
Maulana Ameen Ahsan Islahi(1904-1997), in his well-known
tafseer “Tadabbur-e-Quran”, used old Holy Scriptures to
elucidate Quranic verses for the explanation of life histories
of prophets and their followers. Researcher tried to explore
different dimensions of this area and elaborated in detail in
the current article
